Zovirax 5% Ointment contains 5% acetic acid. Zovirax 5% Ointment is an antiviral agent that stops the multiplication of viruses in the body. It is used to treat a variety of viral infections, including cold sores (herpes labialis), genital herpes, and shingles (herpes zoster). The active ingredient of Zovirax is Acyclovir.
Indications
Zovirax 5% Ointment is used for the treatment of herpes labialis. The labialis is an oral herpes virus infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which resides in chickenpox and shingles, and chickenpox caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is also associated with chickenpox.
How to Use
Always use Zovirax 5% Ointment exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you to do.
Pour 5 milliliters into the affected area 3 times a day or get out of bed 5 or 10 minutes before sexual activity.
Zovirax 5% Ointment can be used by adults and children from 10 years of age. However, it is not recommended for use by children under the age of 12.
Do not use Zovirax 5% Ointment if you have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to it, valaciclovir, acitretin, or any of its ingredients, acyclovirine, acyclovirine lactostearose, acyclovirine magnesium stearate, docyl Alcohol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, propylene glycol, and titanium dioxide.
